Shanghai Day 4

It's already the second last day of our trip! Time really passes by quickly over here. We had an early start to Zhujiajiao Water Town in the morning. Our guide shared with us that Marco Polo once visited the town and called it the 'Venice of the Orient'. Another interesting fact was that most of the residents in the town have the family name of 'Zhu', hence the name of the town!

We were supposed to visit the Shanghai Expo Pavilion but it was closed due to an event, so we will be visiting the pavilion on Day 5 instead! We then made the journey to Shanghai Museum, where we learnt more about the history of China through the different artefacts on display.

The day ended with an exploration of Yu Yuan Garden (not a real garden, but a shopping enclave) and Nanjing Road (not a real road, only for pedestrians). Both places were packed full of people and we got a glimpse of how crowded Shanghai really is.

Tomorrow will be our last day in Shanghai! Looking forward to going home to be with family, but also will miss the company of each other on the trip! Will try to update once before departing Shanghai airport!
