Shanghai Day 3

For those of you back home wondering about the weather: it's really comfortable over here! Like an air-conditioned room. It can get pretty warm in the afternoon when the sun is out, while the temperature to around 15 °C at night. As a precaution, we always have a sweater/jacket/long sleeved shirt around us.

The 3rd day started with another morning in Gucun Experimental School. This time, they showed us their facilities and we were amazed at how large the campus is! The students shared with us that they have a total of 1200 students, which is a similar size to our school, but the main difference is that they have primary school students studying there too.

After touring the school, we sat in a Mathematics class being introduced to the concept of Probability (for Primary 6 students when we only learn it in Secondary 2!!!); a Music class where we performed our original songs and learnt a traditional Chinese song 'Mo Li Hua'; and a PE lesson learning basic Wushu steps.

Gift exchange between Mr Ho and Gucun's Principal.

Typical scene at lunch, where we serve each other rice and water.

In the afternoon, we took a trip to the Museum of Glass where we learnt about the history of glass-making and viewed the creative uses of glass in art pieces. The visit ended off with a glass-painting activity where we will all take home our self-painted Hello Kitty glass figurine!

As we had more time at night, Ms Syhella led us in a session of art jamming. She introduced different ways and technique of using Chinese ink (over here in China, they just call it ink. Haha.).
